| When Trevor Burton left The Move, Rick Price was asked to join the band, here's
a couple of promo postcards featuring the new line up, I was very lucky to get these cards signed by all four members |
| Rick has written a great history of his career for visitors of the clinic to read. In it he says,"At the time that I joined THE MOVE they had "BLACKBERRY WAY" moving up the chart, and before I had learned half the stage show they were at number one. I appeared on "Lift Off With Ayshea" and "Top of The Pops" wearing a shirt borrowed from Roy and a pair of Carl Wayne's trousers and shoes. It was my own hair and teeth". |
| Carl Wayne left The Move in 1970 and went on to work extensively in theatre, television, and cabaret. |
| He also did a lot of work for charity and ran many marathons raising lots of money for leukaemia research. |
| Carl also released a solo album and many singles during the 70s and 80s, and he became one of the most popular voices for radio and television commercials. |
| In the early eighties he signed to Jet records. This is the press release that went with his first single for them, It was called 'Deeper Than Love' and, like the next single, was released under the name of Charlie Wayne. |
| The B side of 'Deeper than Love was the Jeff Lynne song 'Midnight Blue'.Both tracks were arranged by Louis Clark and featured Roy on backing vocals. |
| Carl's second single for Jet featured two of Roy Wood's songs,The A side was 'Aerial Pictures' with 'Colourful Lady' on the B side. Both of these were produced by Roy who had previously recorded them for himself, his original backing tracks were used for Carl's versions |
| When Allan Clark retired from the Hollies,Carl was asked to join as
their lead singer, which he did in February 2000.Here's a picture of the
