The December 1970 issue of 'Beat Instrumental' featured an interview with Roy and had this rare photo of The Move on the front cover.
And three years later, Roy is on the cover again.
And again a year later.
This is issue number 60 from "The History Of Rock" which was published weekly in the UK back in the early 80s.
Disco 45 was issued every month in the UK back in the 70s and featured news, reviews, interviews and lyrics to songs in the charts at the time
Popster was another UK monthly and for a very reasonable 15p you got info and song lyrics on the featured artist as well as a massive fold out poster. This is the very collectable Wizzard issue
Look-In was a sort of Childrens TV Times, And had interviews and features on all the childrens TV programmes. In the late 60's and early 70's there was a programme called "Lift Of With Ayshea" presented by Ayshea Brough.Wizzard were on the show quite a lot and Roy ended up writing and producing a single for her called "Farewell". She also appeared with Wizzard as a dancer/backing singer on Top of the Pops. Sci-fi fans might remember her in Gerry Anderson's UFO TV series where she played the part of a Radio communications operator.
Here's an unusual but nice picture of Roy on the cover of a 1998 'Bikers' magazine called Back Street Heroes
Record Collector have had a couple of good features on The Move.Back in the early 80s the magazine was smaller than it is now
Back in 1986, a very good friend of mine, John Van der Kiste, wrote and published this book. And before you ask, John tells me that it has long been out of print, and he has no more copies...Oh What A Shame.
